When industrial agrochemical products move across international supply chains, operational consistency becomes just as important as the formulation itself.
Transport conditions, pallet stability, loading operations and handling all play a role in ensuring products arrive in the expected condition and can be managed efficiently throughout the logistics process.
For 200L drum shipments in particular, securing systems are a critical part of transport preparation. Drums must remain stable during storage, loading, road transport, container movements and unloading operations.
Traditionally, many drum shipments across the industry have relied on plastic strapping systems to secure drums on pallets. While widely used, this approach can still allow relative drum movement during transport and handling.
As part of an ongoing operational improvement initiative, Ajinomoto AgroSolutions has started progressively implementing DrumGuard® securing systems for selected 200L drum shipments from Belgium.

The objective is straightforward: improve transport stability and reinforce pallet consistency during handling and shipment operations.
Unlike traditional strapping-only configurations, DrumGuard® mechanically fixes drums directly to the pallet, helping maintain a more defined and stable pallet structure throughout transport.
The rollout is being implemented progressively depending on shipment configuration and stock transition timing. During this phase, customers may temporarily receive both the previous and the new pallet securing configurations.
Importantly, this operational update does not affect:
- product formulation
- product specifications
- product performance
- product handling instructions
The implementation focuses exclusively on shipment securing and transport preparation.
In addition to transport stability, the system also supports reduced reliance on disposable securing materials in eligible pallet configurations and is designed to be compatible with existing industrial recollection and reuse systems.
For Ajinomoto AgroSolutions, initiatives like this reflect a broader operational mindset:
continuous practical improvements that support reliability across the full supply chain experience.
Because in industrial agrochemical logistics, consistency is often built through small operational details that improve performance over time.
At Ajinomoto AgroSolutions, we continue working on practical operational improvements that support product quality, transport reliability and long-term customer experience across the supply chain.
If you have any questions regarding this transition or future shipments, your usual Ajinomoto AgroSolutions contact will be happy to support you.
